Isaiah 26:3

Isaiah 26:3

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

Isaiah speaks of a mind stayed on the Lord because it trusts Him. This is a steady direction of the heart, not an attempt to deny unpleasant facts. The chapter calls God's people to trust the Lord forever, naming Him their everlasting strength (Isaiah 26:4). Peace grows where our confidence is anchored in His character. When troubling news arrives, we can acknowledge it and still return our attention to the God who remains faithful.

Our thoughts need tending. Repeatedly imagining the worst can deepen fear, while pretending that a serious problem is absent can keep us from acting wisely. Scripture gives us another practice: pray, remember God's truth, and take the responsible next step. Philippians 4:6–9 joins prayer with a mind directed toward what is true, just, and worthy of praise. The Holy Spirit helps us return to that truth as often as worry returns. Trust becomes visible in the way we think and respond.

What thought has occupied your mind today? Name the concern before the Father. Ask whether the story you keep repeating is a fact, a fear, or an assumption. Bring it under His Word, seek reliable information where needed, and choose one wise action within your control. Then release what you cannot govern into His care. A mind stayed on God may have to turn back toward Him many times; each return is an act of trust in the Lord who gives peace.
